COMP4X4 presents our heavy duty rear bumper and tire carrier assembly. All of our products go through a rigorous
test period before reaching market. We have designed the best attributes of other manufacturers systems into our own
to create a reliable, user freindly and stylish way of carrying your spare. It will serve you well whether you use your
jeep as a grocery getter or a rockcrawler.
All of our systems are constructed with the following standards:
-All parts used to construct the system are first machined in house and held to tight tolerances to provide the best possible fit for the receiver, shackles, spindle insert etc. This allows for ultra strong full penetration welds.
-The bumper is constructed of heavy wall (.188" or 3/16") tubing. The receiver hitch is recessed for great looks and best possible departure angle. The ends are cut at 40 degrees and cap welded with 1/4" flat bar to create a solid one piece look. The receiver is drilled out at 5/8" behind the bumper for your receiver pin.
-The carrier hinge hub assembly is machined in house and races are pressed in to receive dual tapered roller bearings on a 1000 pound rated spindle. Assembly includes an integrated zerk fitting as well as a grease seal on botton and dust cap on top to protect it from the elements ensuring long life durability.
A 90 degree stop will not allow damage to tail light or tub. It also allows you to lock it open if you are parked off camber so the tire carrier cannot close.
-The Latch is also a custom in house design. It features a machined teflon slider which ensures perfect alignment
with each close. The threaded design gives you control keep it tight and eliminate rattles. Also standard with the design is a hole
for a cotter pin just as a second precaution.
Competition 4x4 highly recommends using our
Frame Tie-in Brackets on all our rear bumpers, especially with a tire carrier.
