From aesthetics to functionality, wheels play an important role in off-roading. Your wheels are what spin your rubber and give you traction. The bigger or taller the wheel the more power your engine and gearing need to produce to turn that wheel and tire. Wheel and tire combinations are in the thousands. Each combination will benefit or detract from 4x4 and off-road applications depending on what you are building for. Do you want drive to and from trails? Will you tow your trail vehicle to and from trails? You will learn here and in our forum what you need to determine before upgrading your wheels. You will need to factor in the wheel offset, centerline, bolt-hole pattern, diameter and width to understand the implications of each feature.
